Its July already and you guys must have already taken admissions and started schooling in Class 11,across all boards in our country.You may have also begun coachings for NEET/AIIMS since the month of April 1 guess.
First of all, welcome to Biology stream and also to Science stream in Class 11.All the hard work in getting good CGPA's and percentages in Class 10 has paid off and you have got the stream of your choice.
The next thing I must say that now that you have chosen Biology after all that stream confusion in Class 10 and all those grueling last moment decisions and the foremost Maths v/s Biology stream war,be proud of your decision and work hard to get your dream of NEET, AIIMS and also of your state PMTs.
You have chosen to study life(Biology) over studying numbers(Mathematics) and be proud of it.Never be under confident and have an inferiority complex to PCM students.I had seen that many students of my school and coaching thought that PCM stream is superior even after taking Biology.They say that they took Biology because they were inferior in Academics,especially Mathematics in previous classes, than PCM taking people.Also, these guys felt inferiority even after being separated from PCM guys in Class 11.
If you have these feelings , my only advice is that Biology is,was and will never be inferior to any other subject , be it Mathematics or any thing.Its a realm of its own kind.A subject so full of life and reality that none other offers(barring Chemistry,its a distant second on being lively).
Mathematics,although quite helpful, is a dry and lifeless subject which can never be compared to this subject on life(Biology).Those who study Biology get a chance to appreciate life , that those Crores and lakhs of salary package seeking PCM people won't get any day.
But it does not mean that you should not study Mathematics at all.A little mathematics is (without taking math subject at school) quite essential for doing Physics in Class 11 and 12.
Plus, Physics is quite important when it comes to NEET and AIIMS and without those Mathematics basics you can't do Physics at all.So don't think that Maths is gone forever!But it will not bother you as an independent subject from now at least.
Guessing that you must be visiting my blog while studying to get a MBBS seat in a reputed college of our country,I can say the job and the work you are seeking has got no comparisons in nobility.You seek to serve live people and not machines or softwares. You seek to earn smiles of others and not mere money.I am not saying that good doctors don't earn a lot, but there real interest lies in the patients satisfaction and not on emptying there pockets.
So be motivated, don't get depressed as many students do at this time.I will be giving all details of the actual academics and preparation in my next post.
