Hello Readers,
I am starting this blog after finishing my own AIPMT(NEET) and AIIMS journey(2014-2016), to give out all the knowledge and experience I have gained in these 2 years.Wish this would be useful to you all and prevent you from doing mistakes that I did and also give an edge to your preparation.
I was inspired to do so by a blog http://amangoeliitb.blogspot.in/ , which is run by Aman Goel,JEE Advanced 2013 AIR 33 to help other JEEians help crack JEE with tips and advice from a student(himself) who actually gave JEE. I realised that no such counterpart of his for NEET or AIIMS exists,so I decided to start it myself.
In this blog, I would be describing my own preparation also.I achieved AIR 780 in AIIMS UG 2016 and am waiting for NEET Results.
These two years of AIPMT/AIIMS preparation are crucial and decide your future. To succeed in getting a decent rank in these exams is a long striving ,difficult but not an imposible job. There are lakhs of students working hard to crack these exams and the recent shift to the NEET exam scheme has made it even more challenging.
Do post your queries in comments section.I will try my best to answer them.
Edit: Got AIR 1460 in NEET UG 2016.

Well done mr. manas,
ReplyDeletethis was my first year to appear in aipmt and wbjeem. the first result of neet 1 for me is too bad i have scored only 371 . because, i don,t take the exam so seriously and i concentrated for my state exam,.o 20th july our wbjeem was happened. it was about 250 marks{bio-150, phy & chem -100} i have scored 163.72. i was quite sure that this marks will crack this easily and neet 2 score was 439 and my rank came 24258. unfortunately, in previous year, what i got in my state exam was a sure marks in a top govt. college in my city.this year the cut off was 180. oh my god i did not hear this before .now i am very much depressed. i have also scored 89.78% in my board exam .now , before reading your blog, my parents admitted me in aakash classroom for neet 2017.now i came to know what their notes or material lack from your blog. unfortunately i don't have any resonance book. first year i have tested allen dlp.now i have some question :
1.you are absolutely correct that questions of allen are too much old.okay, i will manage all pmt's question from previous paper according to your opinion.my question to you is allen too technically behind from resonance. i have seen that teir GOC and organic chem is too good and physical chem theory is also good.i have also bought the book of n.awasti and m.s. chouhan . i also buy the book of dr.ali . i've also seen that allen's biology is quite huge .do you not practice any objective book of physics,? i have seen that you prescribed the book of d.c.pandey,ncert .i have practiced ERRORLESS physics (UBSPH).am i going to the right way ? . this book was told by roman somani and i have seen him in a lecture in youtube
2. how do you revise big big chapters like animal kingdom. it's a huge chapter in allen book. my problem : let's assume i have read this chapter in august with full force and lots of classification of reptilia, diff. btween crocodile and alligator, toad and frog, class of arthopod and molluscs bla bla bla ....okay chapter is finished. let's assume i have got in 165 in 180 marks of this class test....time goes ...i forget the crocodile and alligator...now comes the first aits in november ....i have to grab this in a whole day or 3-5 days..? how did you do it ? how did you kill the pressure ?
3.now time is too short. only six or seven month i have . how to use this time ? can i fully solve ms chouhan, d.c. pandey...lots of test, lots of aiats, lots of part test,....i am gonna be mad..and off couse congratulation, at least i have found a guide like you
1.Allen is not too behind Resonance in terms of Study Material but I having seen them both, preferred Resonance study material.Allen may have improved its study material in 2 years since I had the 2014 edition with me and my opinion may not be correct regarding it as of today. If it has become good you should definitely do it,not an issue at all.I don't have any idea on that Roman Saini recommended book, but I tried a book called Universal Self Scorer(100% Errorless) by Universal Book Depot which was a not so good book as per NEET 2016 pattern,so avoid that if its that one.
ReplyDeleteAlso,if the branch of Aakash you are enrolled has been giving good results in the past years,go for it for sure and don't leave.I gave my opinion on DLP material, the classroom one may be different. Also, the most important are notes that the study centre faculty will make you write. If those teachers are good enough, they themselves will rectify any gaps in the study material by teaching it separately.
2.Big chapters can be revised topic-wise of which questions can be practised immediately by Dr.Ali and Allen/Aakash books. You can use MTG NCERT@fingertips for revision time(specifically) too.Old part test papers can help too.
Also do make short notes(summarised by yurself) for chapters like Animal Kingdom and Plant Kingdom, which help in quick revision.Regarding AIATS,its good that you want to revise for AIATS,but I recommend that don't take too much pressure to turn every page and book for AIATS itself.Make a good revision plan giving appropriate time to each topic as it suits you.If you are not able to do it till AIATS,ignore AIATS and continue studying as per your own schedule.I myself used to get only 380-420 marks in AIATS(later left giving it) but knew that it was not my actual performance. So even if you don't get good marks in AIATS,doesn't matter.Keep doing hard work. It's your concepts that matter, not AIATS marks.
3.Regarding time,I can say that if you use each day to fullest, more than enough time is left to ace NEET and AIIMS. Wake up early, make a strict schedule, stay motivated and you DEFINITELY CAN DO all whats needed to get a good rank in NEET/AIIMS in this 8 month period. You will not go mad once you get set in a good schedule.
thank you for your opinion. my questions are :
ReplyDelete1.should i take resonance dlp ?i have seen their MAHA VIRAT PACK that includes DPP,SM,AITS.
2.what book you used for physics objective ? i need your opinion as early as possible . as per your opinion , the core of every pmt subject is NCERT books and the next step is to cover the whole theory by d.c. pandey understanding books (upto jee main ) portion. am i right ? but the last step ? what'sthe book for practice physics objective ?
1.Its up to you to take Resonance DLP or not,I have given my opinion. But still you should first try doing the Allen ones and if they suit you,you can skip Resonance. If they don't,you may go for Resonance later on.
ReplyDelete2.I didn't use any extra books for Physics objective as Resonance modules and DPPs had a lot of questions already in them.Although I did use DC Pandey(JEE Main) for practice in the last 3 months.
is it mandatory to solve the subjective questions of d.c. pandey understanding ? i have left the subjectives of unit &measurement and is going to solve the next chapters ..
ReplyDelete2. do they give the answer of dpp in dlp ?
You can skip the subjective problems to do them later on,as they are time consuming and you should do them only when you are very thorough with your concepts(maybe after finishing course).I don't exactly know about the solutions for DPP in DLP as I was a classroom student of Resonance. But,they will definitely tell you which option is correct,if not the whole solution.
